Love Lost - A poem that has stayed with me.

After all of these years of doing Poetry on the Spot, there have been thousands of poems I have written. Many stand out in my mind, but only one has caused me to carry a reminder with me every day.

I put myself in the shoes of the people I write for, and for this poem, it reminded me how much my wife means to me. I carry this $5 with me as a nudge if I ever even begin to take her for granted. The story and poem are below, written the same day of the exchange with this gentleman.
